Personal Story

I wasn’t expecting that ...

Few have stumbled as I did when trying to discover where their true potential lies during university. For the first time, I found myself at Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia. I began studying nursing but quickly realized it wasn’t for me. Then, I shifted to engineering, which also didn’t fit. Finally, I landed in journalism—learning without truly understanding what I was supposed to learn or envisioning what kind of professional I would become. I felt utterly lost.

'You are a programmer despite of studying journalism!' that was once happened to me.

But here’s where the twist comes in: the university didn’t leave me confused in vain. It introduced me to a life-changing encounter with a young, energetic, and optimistic person named Sitota (or as he prefers, Siyat). Sitota was more than just a friend; he became my greatest teacher. He saw potential in me that I couldn’t see myself, guiding me toward a path that aligned with my strengths. He shaped me in to the kind of person that is going to serve YOU with the inherited contagious sprite I shared from his soul.

Can’t say ā€˜Being Programmer’ is my childhood dream to become. But surely can say it is what I will be for the rest of my life ever since I embarked on it.
